All About Solar Eclipse 2024 In-Person
Are you ready? On April 8th, a total solar eclipse will cross North America. But what is a solar eclipse exactly? Why do we have them? Is there a safe way to view them? Join NASA Solar System Ambassador, Les Murray, to learn about the types of eclipses, how to safely view them, and some of the history and scientific breakthroughs that have happened due to eclipses. About the Presenter:
Les Murray has a degree in physics and is a Principal Engineer for a telecom company designing fiber optics and very high-speed data systems. Les has served on various standards bodies in the telecom industry and has developed many products over the last 30 years. Les is an avid amateur astronomer and likes to image the night sky. Les does lots of public outreach for astronomy, ham radio, robotics, rocketry and electronics. He loves science and really loves sharing it with others.
