Teen Cuisine In-Person
Alexia Davila from the Texas A&M Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program will teach youth from grades 6 to 12 important life skills to promote optimal health in the present and future.
Through Teen Cuisine, teens will be able to:
- Learn about nutrient-dense foods, drinks, and snacks
- Read food labels to make healthy choices
- Understand MyPlate
- Read and follow a recipe
- Identify proper portion sizes
- Use safe food-handling practices
- Identify the importance of physical activity
This is a six-week course with lessons every week from Wednesday, June 18 to Wednesday, July 23. Each lesson will have a different focus. Patrons are encouraged but not required to attend every session. For kids and teens in grades 6-12. First come, first served.
